Certification of medical interpreters on a large scale has been a longtime goal of the translation and interpretation industry. Google “translator gadget” translates web pages automatically…but human translators still needed for accuracy

For some applications, automatic software translation apps or “machine translation” is sufficient to meet simple needs, such as personal home pages and the like. Translation for business or legal applications however, or anything of a more serious nature in which high levels of accuracy are needed, still requires professional human translators.
