International Trade Center hosts Austin conference with China delegates from Shandong Province

Shandong Province Delegation in Austin, TX
The International Trade Center in partnership with the Office of Governor of Texas – Department of Economic Development & Tourism, the China Consulate General Office in Houston and the Austin Chamber of Commerce, has successfully hosted a delegation from the Shandong Province at the China-Texas Business Forum in Austin, TX on April 28th, 2009.
The delegation included Government Officials as well as CEOs and Directors from Shandong corporations who are interested in doing business with Texas companies in many sectors of the economy, including coal, energy, technology, textiles and environmental industries.
The Shandong Province is the second most important province in China. It is located in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, on China’s eastern coastline, next to the Bohai Sea, Korean Bay and Yellow Sea. The Shandong Province has one of the most developed transportation systems in the country with over 1,875 miles of express highways. Shandong is also very rich in natural resources and is considered one of China’s major agricultural production bases. Its geographic location and highly developed highway system, position the Shandong province as a hub for international trade.
